Quickie Review for Water Operations – Hot Topics 2026 is a six-hour series, including a review of SOPs including how to get started or to update your SOPs. This year we answer a big question in quality of stored water … actually exploring some of the observation steps required to maintain a quality storage facility. Also, we offer an update to Basic Microbiology for water operators: what critters are we looking at under the microscope and how do we identify them? This combination of topics has been suggested by operators for inclusion in this series.
Stress -- Operator Fatigue: A sense of energy depletion or exhaustion, similar to the feelings of being drained and unable to cope with job demands. Our research for this course has taken us across the web and into many public and human health agencies, collectively to bring about an informal understanding of this increasingly difficult condition. This operator condition has become increasingly problematic for plant managers, crew leaders and managers of public utilities, as well as all other industries, globally.
Activated Sludge –Process and Overview Series is a five-hour series including the five individual courses, Activated Sludge I to V. From the beginnings of the authentic activated sludge process in Holland, through its development over the past forty years in the extended aeration mode, to the various current configurations and methods, and finally reviewing a few troubleshooting cases to sharpen your insight into process control.
